BORING (Part #2)

Today is only the second day of my semester break!
Anyone who is in the same boat as me, let me tell you a story..

Let's do something for our environment..
Few weeks back, some of my friends suggested a way to save our environment. We are actually car pooling everytime we go to college.. BUT, instead of 4 people in one car, we thought of cycling to college.. Of course we must start very early in the morning or we will inhale the stupid carbon monoxide..

I told them it was a mad plan.. Since I tried cycling from my house to my beloved secondary school once.. It is not cool or a happy thing when your whole body sweats and you must concentrate on the traffic..

And they say they would give it a try.. So since they wanted to do it, maybe I should show some support lorr..
First thing first.. Get my (I think 10 years old ) mountain bike to do some service and repair..
I abandoned it when I have a bike in form 4..
Still in good conditions lahh.. Long time ago mountain bike don't have absorbers lorr.. Unless you buy the one with carbon fibre body which can be carried with only one finger..
Hehe..

Things to be done.. Get a new tyre for the back wheel.. Pancit d! o.O''

And grease the gears.. Rusty.. Actually we changed it once.. From 21 speed and decreased to I forget how much already.. Because the parts cheaper mah..

Before I continue my story, today which I thought will be sunny, suddenly rained so f* up

heavily..
Removed all the old torn stickers on the body, washed and later after blogging, I will polish the spokes..

It rained, so i have no mood to continue the service part.. Instead, I fix a motorcycle muffler on my bicycle.. Yeah, one day I will put some engine and carburetor on the front as suggested by Gareth.. One Day it shall move.. But for now,I have to drive it down to CCI in town to get it repair.. The shop in Pulau Tikus seems disappeared..

So, do you want to ride this baby?

AHA.. Better stick to the 'save the environment' plan lah..
Bicycle means use your leg and cycle.. Tht's why 'bi' is there..

Woke up too early in the Morning

OMFG! Its Holiday and I have nothing to do..
And I don't know why I was awake so early when I slept at 3am..
Something must be very wrong with my sleeping cycle..

And this holiday period, I am so freaking bored.. Like worm will grow into my brain already..
Just like the worms from the butterfly that infected the flowers..

Err.. The flowers are in my house garden but I don't really know their names..

This is the calamansi fruits.. Butterfly infected the tree few months back.. One is dead while the other one can barely fruits.. Sobs..

Now, who say moth and butterfly are beautiful creatures??

Homemade layered cheese cake

I wanted to make a birthday cake for the special someone actually..
First and foremost, I found a classic Tiramisu recipe thru the net and decided to make it this morning..
After going through the ingredients, I did modified the recipe and changed the okra to chocolate sponge cake..
My chef verbally taught us how to make coffee Tiramisu before exam the other day..

End up I made a cheese cake! Because the Mascarpone cheese for Tiramisu can no where be found..
LOL!

So end up I went to Cold Storage and Sim for the ingredients..
This is the first time I made layered cheese cake too.. Looks uneven but tastes as usual, Good ;P

Super cheezy and creamy oreo cheese cake!

The sponge cake I wanted to use for Tiramisu.. Used the old school recipe.. So the sponge cake really look like sponge! Brown spongy spongebob!

Made them layer by layer.. First to bake the oreo cracker base, then the oreo cheese batter (reserve some to stick the sponge cake), then place a piece of sponge cake on the oreo batter when it is cooked (then paint a light layer of plain cheese batter on the spongecake, bake awhile) and finally pour the plain batter and make some chocolate linings..

Err.. Remember to steam-bake the cake!

Yum yum.. I cut it and eat it when I found out that the special someone is no longer in Penang..
Didn't even say good bye wor..
Sigh..

Anyway, here are the descriptions..
First time making layered one.. Look like volcano.. Next time sure even one!

NANDO's

My friends and I went over to Gurney after chilling somewhere at Prima Tanjung area..
We went to Gurney for our long planned dinner @ Nando's..
Really miss their char grilled chicken..

I ordered Extra Hot Half chicken with 2 sidelines..
One old style chips and grilled vegetables..

ONE thing is the STAFFS of the particular restaurant is quite rude tho..
Even the young ones.. The one who took our order..
The way she repeat our orders is like.. sigh.. Since it is so hard to talk, might as well shut up and bring the food later..
Next, we had to ask for the bottomless drinks a few times..
Penang turning to KL style meh? Gila.. KL they take our cups back to the counter and refill it..
Here, they use the glass jug only mah..

I think it is because their manager/supervisor was not around..

As usual, the chicken is tasty..

But the grilled vegetable tastes like pan fried 1.. Pan fried zucchini? I dislike it darn much!

This is me.. This is the one complaining..

Then, there are a bunch of people with EOS and DSLR.. Wah happily snapping pictures..
Hahaha, photography is becoming hot or showing off your camera is the new hobby?

Fat Prawn

Thailand Tiger Prawn.. It doesn't look like the local ones..
The colour of the stripes on its body is less dark..
HAHAHA.. Im not the pro here but common sense lah..

So huge.. I think one if this is 100g - 150g.. Hehehe.. So darn fat like lobster!

Firstly, split it into half.. Marinate with black pepper, garlic, rosemary and salt..
Later on, place some hollandaise sauce on the flesh before baking..

Hollandaise sauce: Clarified butter whipped with egg yolk..

Bake it under hot oven for a few minutes until the skin turns bright red..
Since I have not much ingredients, I have to serve the baked prawn with some asparagus..
Oh.. And the yellow thing is the hollandaise sauce..

Ugh.. Platting for prawn is not easy.. Haha..
Not really nice tho..

I shall try again next time..
Can't wait for nandos tonight!

Max Gourmet

Meaning Maximum Gourmet ah?
Like that meaning 5 star restaurant..

Since everyone is talking about it and it is filled with customers, my friend and I went over for a try..
The food is okay only lah.. Quite expansive tho..
They have a few branch but this one is in Gurney Plaza, 7th floor opposite the GG Wembrey Park..

Orangy lightings, walls and wooden wallpaper.. Very interesting..

The chicken bento set.. They name it chicken wing bento set but they serve the chicken wings using the 'chicken boxing' style..

KDU is MAD!?
Today is our final Food Production EXAM and the RESTAURANT is BOOKED?

So sad.. Even for exam, we have to use the le cafe as our restaurant to serve the 30 guests..
All the 10 service staff gathered and planned some layout for the cafe/restaurant.. We made a BAR, WALL, DOOR and Centre Piece too..

As usual, our manager.. Captain Mozi..

Nasi Lemak Liverpool, Penang

Have u ever crave for nasi lemak so badly?
Yes, I do.. To have the best not really that spicy ones, I love the one at Batu Lanchang.. The 'kuah' is sweet tho..
The stall was introduced to me by my cousins years ago.. Then, the flower horn fish were still baby..
Now, the head is as big as the liverpool cafe business! HAHA..

Classic Nasi Lemak will be wrapped with banana leaves.. It gives and keep the smell of the fragrant rice..

Open it like opening your make-up box.. People still use make-up boxes? LOL!

Ikan Bilis.. Deep fried Anchovy?

The people I mix with.. The people who cook with me, serve with me, play with me and poke balls with me.. Err..

The stall is located opposite Lam Wah Ee hospital, under an apartment and the route to Jelutong, Mansion 2.. Left side okay?

She wanted to try too! But she did not finish a packet wor.. Why ah??
Wanted to eat duckie's cheese cake I think ;)

Later on, after bla bla bla.. I lazy to explain..
We went over to Paya Terubong to meet up someone.. HAHA.. On the way, we keep on talking about the 'haunted thing.'

Then we chilled at McD Paya Terubong.. I like the layout of the restaurant..
Saw many people studying in it too.. People nowadays study at night??

We went to meet Foo Tong.. This dude is going to be the best artist and designer in years to come.. I support you ;)

Later on we went back to net3 and meet up the gaming kaki.. Heng is back and we watched DRAMA in a cybercafe with him.. LOL!

Jam wanted to eat Wan Than Mee so we went to Tg Bunga to see uncle.. Sat there till 6am talking about our course and gossip about that idiot..

Slept for 2 hours then went up to BF to meet Bala for swimming..
What a day..

Run Out of Time

So, after cooking for our 30 guests, we have to pass up a report..
The report includes; our members, biodata, the stuffs occured during cooking, photos of members, foods, requisition form and etc etc..

Went over to Starbucks, Gurney Plaza and finished the report.. While everyone is working, i took my time off to enjoy the piece of mocha cheesecake and mocha iced blended coffee..


The weather is great.. Sunny but windy.. So we sat outside..
