>> Tuesday, September 29, 2009

It was Joo Teik's Birthday.. My coursemate lah.. We celebrated his birthday one night early because he is busy on his birthday night.. Don't need to ask why lorr..
10 of us went over to Hammer Bay!
I learnt a new hokkien word, ' chiak chubi' which means eat for fun..

Reach there about 9.30 and chilled till midnight.. We eat and eat, smoke and smoke and play till we forgot what is the time already..
Because we have to wake up early to attend the 'teaching surver' lab to comment on our lecturers.. I Holiday also must go college make surver.. Sigh right?

The Birthday boy.. Obala and Gareth drove to Tesco to get this cheese cake..

Played 'in between' to finish up the cheese cake.. Finally birthday boy had to finish his cake.. We pakat bet on him loh..

Some of them.. Obala, Cobra, Fong and Reese..

And this dish looks interesting.. Char La La..

We had special shisha too.. The tobacco and flavour is placed in a pineapple..

They went crazy and bought another one..
That is why we chilled till forget the time..

Happy Birthday Dude!

My Happy Saturday

It was the last Saturday of the one week holiday.. Simple day, I made myself free the whole day.. Was supposed to attend a school event but I could not make it.. Only went there in the night..

Watched 'Perfect Getaway.' The show rocked.. But there were some parts that make me blur.. Might go watch again.. HAHA!

Later, we went over to Esplanade to chill.. We watched the the 'pocket bike race' and then walked to the hawker centre for fruits.. First time eating fruits there.. First hand experience but the fruits are expansive!

Look for BUAH POTONG in the chinese part of the hawker centre.. The one near the beach..
Cheers!
This coming Saturday is a heavy Saturday.. I have stuffs to do..

HAMMER BAY

>> Saturday, September 26, 2009

My Happy Friday started with too much rice flour in the inventory basket or what ever you call it.. My mom wants me to make 'kuih lompang' for tea as she bought a packed of shaved coconut in the morning..

Started making the kuih.. Wait for it to set, cool it and then cut and coat with the shaved coconut.. Done with the kuih and it was already 4.30pm..
So I delivered it to Jeff with my bicycle.. We waited for Obala to fetch us from Jeff's new house to meet Wai Kit in the airport.. On the way, we picked Yeang and Gareth in gurney..

Shoot down to Penang International Airport and to look for our big brother! Found him and his family then we made the 'usual thing' lah.. Talk/laughs/and all.. Then his mommy came.. She had a fractured arm.. Take care aunt! Get well soon..

After our big brother left, we went over to The Snake Temple to meet Daniel.. He was supposed to take us to some 'Ikan Bakar' place for dinner..
Went over to Hammer Bay which is located in a junction between Queensbay and the Pulau Jerjak Jetty..

First time in the HAMMER BAY.. Owned by our local malays.. This place has many white lamps hanging in the open air.. Like the 'sotong' light where fisherman place the lights to catch squid!

There are many kinds of seat u can choose.. The open-air, under the Sydney/hawaian atap roof, some wooden huts that face the sea and other VIP VIP seat with red cloth on the table..
We chosed the open-air one..

For appetizers, we had their signature dish.. Fried squid..

Then we had fish, chicken dish, kangkong and egg omelet for main course.. Satay for desserts.. Since my chef says that my satay tastes sweet one.. Same lah here..
Bahh.. The 'ikan bakar' is quite expansive if you want to compare with Goodall cafe.. But the 'ikan bakar' is really BAKAR one.. BBQ with charcoal..

Drinks are cheap.. Ais limau is only RM1.oo.. Got Asam!

Peace.. I mean no harm.. Taken by Obala..

Then, we had this 'Cola' flavoured sisha for only RM10.oo.. The sisha is better compared to Sunset BUT the environment is quite funny lah...

Im looking forward for my Happy Saturday..
Nights..

Fish & Chips

>> Monday, September 21, 2009

My friend tempted me with fish.. Fish = healthy protein and it also helps ure brain cells to develope!? No?
We were supposed to dine in a fish and chips restaurant but the plan had never come true..
Then the tham chiakness in me forced my lazy butt to be kicked and I went shopping for ingredients..

Bought a kilo of butterfish as the main ingredients.. Butterfish is creamy and has the best texture if you want a good fish and chips.. It is not too expansive tho..

For the batter, I used the 'beer battered' concept.. Found the recipe in the KDU library not long ago.. Worked out to be fine.. Hehe.. Wonder what will happen if I replace the beer with liquor..

The for the chips.. Older potatoes are recommended.. Soak them in water so that the starch can ooze out and you will have a more crispy fries.. Science says that!

My Beer Battered Fish and Chips turned out to be like that!

Tadaa.. Rich and creamy flesh.. Yum Yum..

Argh.. Still want the real deal..
Faster make up ure mind and we go to the real shop for fish..

Butter Sculpture

>> Sunday, September 20, 2009

Nak tengok?

HAHAHA..

Two in One Birthday

>> Saturday, September 12, 2009

Friday was our first Food Production 2 class.. And on that day itself, it was one of the week's leader birthday, Daniel..
And the day itself, it was one of our customer's birthday too..
He is our friend, Mou Liang from Group A.
The two of them are born on the same day, duh?

Before I touch on the celebrations, My lecturer gave a very GOOD comment on our group during the food production and service! Heih Heih.. Then our #1 old man suddenly helped me to serve during service as my partner ppk-ed.. What a miracle.. Keep up the spirit chefs~

Then, Gareth and my 'Nyonya cuisine' might be selected for a function one of this coming weeks.. Hopefully kena lah! This is better than kena lottery because I don't need to cook on the last week before this subject ended.. That time sure got tons of work and exams one..

So, the two handsome dudes had their first celebrations by us in the Bon appetit Restaurant during class.. We sang a birthday song and off the lights.. Got cake and candle somemore!
Hopefully our customers didn't freaked out lah!

During the night, we all went up to Batu Ferringhi for some chilling purposes.. One week of hardwork and 1 night of chill ain't that bad right?

Nahh.. The two Birthday boys.. Daniel on the left and Mou Liang, right..

The deco.. I like the flaming palm tree.. If is wasn't the lights, I will go emo there ady.. I wasn't on a good mood lah.. Don't ask why.. Lazy to explain..

The the krazy birthday boy ordered 3 bucket of beers.. Because he wanted to stop drinking after turning 19..
Darn funny lah..

Lembu who came up late cause taking a bus, had a burger or 2? Nahh.. The burger made them turn this..

This is Steven Khaw aka KDU Edison Chen.. Everyone keep bullying him lah.. Hahaha..
In the afternoon, they made 19 glass of large smoothies for our group members and 1 tiny one for him..

And this is Ah Fong from Sungai Petani.. To be honest, he is the most 'chi ko' dude in my class.. I think he knows 90% of the girls in KDU SHTCA department.. Are you in his list?

Then, the birthday boy ordered two 8 inch super cheezy pizza to be shared.. And he asked us, 'lu lang mua ee liao' which means you guys satisfied/happy enough? Siao liao..

Birthday Pizza, first ever created in Penang, Malaysia..

Cheers! And then Lembu dropped his pizza into his beer..
Fu*k, he is a real joker.. 'The world is just awesome!'

Pump Pump.. Pump till whole night also cannot finish.. Eh what will you get if you suck too much? Someone google and tell me please..

I wonder if his girlfriend allow him to suck on this!?

Darn a good night to spend with them.. Later on, we had Tom Yam and then balik.. Obala dropped me home..
Thanks man!!
