The Chinese Part of the Force..

>> Tuesday, June 30, 2009

Today is Tuesday.. Our so called the most horrible day of the week.. Because we have to wait for 5 hours before the afternoon class at 4..
Then a great news came, my French Language lecturer says that today's class is cancelled due to some staff meeting he had to attend..
We went off to Public bank and breakfast..

Later on, someone sms-ed our Bala and told him that this afternoon class is cancelled too.. Hmm.. So today is holiday for me..
Later in the afternoon, I will have to go down to town again to get some stuffs for my final practical exam.. I guess I will be hopping from shops to shops today.. LOL!

Anyway we had dim sum for breakfast as we feel so Chinese today..

Round 1..

The TOP 3 model.. Look at OBala..

Ketua Lanun and Gareth..

Good Business..

Messy table.. All the Tham Chiak Lous!

Later on, we went over to Chowrasta market.. We wanted to see the Popia Skin Maker in Action but he ain't making any at that time..
Ugh.. Next time I shall video and put it in my blog..

Since we have break and all, we carried on with out plans..

As usual, we will have our morning walk to Netcity 5 opposite New World Park..
Stop by the indian coconut shop @ Abu Siti Lane and have a glance thru the BMW showroom..

Soon after playing games and surfing the net in the cybercafe, we went over to New World Park ''FOOD COURT'' for lunch..
I had a shock.. The hawker food is so darn expansive.. Maybe they will attract more customers if they sell at a moderate price.. We people ain't mat salleh tho..
A can of coke costs RM2.00 which is more expansive than the ones in 7-Eleven..

The Penang 'Char Koay Teow.'

Penang 'Har Mee' with pork ribs aka 'Hokkien Mee.'

And the Penang 'Lor Bak'. Eh, the Indonesian maid took charge of the stall.. Hmm..
Is she Halal?

Ops I forget to take the famous 'ABC Ais Kacang' photo as my friend Daniel was so thristy he finished the bowl when I went to collect my Lor Bak..

After a sweaty walk back to college, we went over to the library.. It was the coolest place in college..
Since we have to kill more times.. We had a great laugh doing nonsense in the library.. Luckily no people were there.. If not we might kena banned already.. HAHA..

Look below..

Durian Chef Tools.. Like kena serbu Police like that..

LOL.. KDU lokap anyone??

Tribute from Saw Liang Wei (The La Sallian Spirits)

>> Tuesday, June 23, 2009

Hello all Xaverians, La Sallians and everyone!

LA SALLIAN SPIRITS

Those days are gone,
Time have passes and it shall wait for no one,
To those fortunate ones,
you had a direct contact with Lasallian spirits,
To those not so fortunate ones,
do not fear as We are still here,
Spreading the message and spirits of the Lasallian;

Our buildings might crumbled to the ground,
Our crosses might fall,
Our holy place might be demolish,
Our motto might be changed,
Our Alma Mater's might not longer be sang;

But,

Fear not my fellow Lasallians,
Have faith in ourselves as,
Those I mentioned are merely physical evidence of our existance,
Remember you shall,
That our true existance is what inside our hearts;

Let's us show our enemies the true spirits of us,
Show them that the Lasallian spirits will not crumble,
Definately not by taking away our physical evidence of existance,
Show them that we are much more than that:

As we will not only won't crumble
but
We will even continue to raise to a higher level,
As we will continue to spread the Lasallian spirits,
To all the people in the world,
far or near,
Not to change who they are but,
To make this world a better place.

Saint Xavier's Institution, Penang school song..

All through our college a voice is resounding,
Promptly respond to your duty's sweet call,
Hearken you all for the trumpet is sounding,
Your mater's proclaiming her watchwords to all

(Chorus)
Forward her children dear,
Ever with hearts sincere,
Render with joy to your mater her due,
All that is vile reject,
Heaven will e'er protect,
Sons of St Xavier's valiant and true,

Labour will conquer your motto still bearing,
Forward with courage in ways that are just,
True to your standard,
be doing and daring,
As faithful Xaverians in Heaven your trust

(Chorus)
Forward her children dear,
Ever with hearts sincere,
Render with joy to your mater her due,
All that is vile reject,
Heaven will e'er protect,
Sons of St Xavier's valiant and true!

~spread the songs too!~

I made an Oreo Cheesecake for my daddy..

I am glad my daddy was discharged from the hospital few days ago as he was suspected having dangue fever..

So people, do kick those mosquitos arse by keeping everything dry.. Don't serve the mosquitos.. Because you are not their slaves..

Some green apple and strawberry as garnishing..

One slice for daddy..

Savoury or sweet?

>> Thursday, June 18, 2009

Few days back, we had Garde Manger Class and we made the buffet bar mirror platting..

We made:
Galantine (Chicken leg roll with stuffings)
Pate (Square stuffings that are wrap with dough and gelatin)
Aspic (The carrots glazed with gelatin)

And then placed on the huge piece of mirror..

By Group B1 aka my group.. The items above are savoury NOT sweet!

For the sweet 'Petit Four,' we did it today..
6 of us including Huan P'ng, Bala, Jeff, Gareth, Reese and myself made products from Puff Pastry..

Huan P'ng & Reese: Cream Horn
Gareth & Bala: Napolean and Plamiers
Jeff: Jalousi aka airport
Me: Vol-au-vent

My pastry chef! Chef Syam!

My vol-au-vent!

Petit Four!

Petit four..

Hehehe..

And since making puff pastry you need lots of patience..
Because we have to wait for it to set in the freezer, roll/fold it again and etc..

Our Magician decided to show some skills..

Heh.. This is me..

Sisha Smokey, Smoking Sisha?

>> Wednesday, June 10, 2009

Thanks to these.. By Jeff the host and Reese..

After class at 8pm, we went home for dinner and then went to Batu Ferringhi to meet up with Obala..
It was about 10 at night..
Although it was a weekday, Sunset Bistro is filled with people.. I think it is because of school holidays and their Jaz beer promotions..

Duckie ordered a Sisha.. Have fun with it.. Manatau we are unable to finish it before closing..
HAHA!

Andrew came a bit later.. LOL..

This dude here is Wei Keat.. God knows what 'evil' things he had done.. Don't judge a book by its cover..

Daniel aka Jam Hsiao..
Finally he got top 1 in chimney competitions..

Me with my Tiger Beer..

Lol.. Lari tune.. Smoke gone so fast..

Smokey..

Obala delivering Booze at his house beside the saxay pool..

We had some maggie and nasi goreng.. The one above is Maggie Goreng Ayam Masak Merah..
This dish is available at THE LIL STALL OPPOSITE HOLIDAY INN HOTEL!
GOT IT? You can find no Malay Tom Yam better than there..

I had 2 plates that night.. Rawr!

And it rawks drinking by the pool.. Because we did it at 2am in the morning..

Lastly, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to SHERENA aka SHERPIG tomorrow..
