Xocolatl Class ( Chocolate class )

>> Thursday, February 4, 2010

Hello again these products are from my CAD 2 class.. It is a chocolate class taught by Chef Syam the man! The group members involved is Gareth & Bala the chocolate sculpturer! Jam & Mozi the paraline maker and finally Reese & myself the chocolate tempering man..

Our presentation.. It is a small portion only so we do it on a plate instead of a big piece of mirror..

Side ways.. The cost of this plate should be around RM 30 since we are using pure dark chocolate.. Normally chocolate is devided into 3 types which is pure dark (40 degrees), compound(41 degrees) and white chocolate (42 degrees)..

The butterfly again.. Little girls might love this.. I think she loves it too! LOL..

3 layered where 3 types od chocolate are available.. By Gareth..

The squirrel.. Don't turn out good but it is accepable.. Haha.. I love the moo moo coloured chocolate..

So.. Chocolate class end, styrofoam class starting! Love it!

Nature Boy mission accomplished!

>> Monday, February 1, 2010

I need to get ready for 2010 hardcore mission which is the Industrial Training which will be in August.. I am not going oversea or outstations.. Mostly it is in Penang Island or Langkawi Island only..

So I was planning to get a watch for training purposes.. Besides, I am now 20 year old and are supposed to be an adults.. Grown-ups! Damn.. Got to leave the childish side of the force..
Time passes really fast and in a blink of my eyes.. So a plan is what I need before I do and reflections after what I did.. Everyone needs a plan in life.. Yup a plan.. Mine is a humble plan.. What about yours?

Enough of reality.. So, I drove my kawan-kawans to QB for shopping.. I want to get a watch and they are supposed to give constructive comments about the watch.. End up, QB parking was jam packed and we went over to Akuarium Pulau Pinang in Batu Maung.. Went back to QB after visiting the fishes, turtles and crocodile!

About the Aquarium, Check the photos below which I got from OBala!

The arch way.. I was emo-ing there..

Nahh.. Was looking at the koi fish! There are also giant fish in the next pool.. So damn huge! O.O'

And we found the baby crocodile.. Crocs mouth are supposed to be sharp right? So this dude is a croc! Let's name him Lacoste!

Two fat fat Garoupa.. They were there since years ago.. I think when I was in Form 4, I saw them already..

Turtles! They Bite but they like me!

See..

After a tiring stroll outside, we went into the hall and chilled with the fat fat fishes!
The internal part of the aquarium is closed so we are not able to enter.. BUT if you want to see the sea creatures,

Entrance fee is:
RM5 for Adults
RM3 for Children
RM1.50/ pax for school tour..
(closed on wednesday)

After a few hours in the Akuarium Pulau Pinang, we went back to QB but found nothing good there..

Finally get our arse to GP and I bought this Casio Edifice and CK tee.. Cheap Cheap only.. Now that my missions are completed, I would like to thank them all who joined me..
Peace!

Annabelle Place

>> Sunday, January 31, 2010

Annabelle Place is so well known I don't need to intro about them anymore.. But for those who still don't know.. It is Located @ Permai 32, Tanjung Bunga.. A few shops from Blue Reef and Home Style.. This place is famous for their English Classic tea and desserts.. It is a British style kinda restaurant.. However, the time we went there it was already about 7pm+ and are rushing to go to another place, we had dinner only.. Food is good.. Even the vinaigrette I had in the main was tasty when combined with the crispy coral and iceberg lettuce..
Thumbs up to Annabelle!

Iced peach tea and Iced lemon tea served in the dwarf boots glass.. Cute..

Fettuchini Carbonara: We had the turkey and beef.. Creamy but a little bit dry..

Hokkaido Fried Rice: Sweet sumo fried rice with the sweet japanese oil I could not remember the name.. We ordered 2.. It would be better if the chef put some julienned Japanese seaweed..
=p

Ocean Treasure.. One of their signature.. Very awesome stuff where the crab bits is mixed with the cream of mushroom and then baked in a crab shell..

Cinnamon and Basil baked chicken with fettuchini.. Tastes superb! Suit the Asian tastebuds..

My plate..

Card and recipt.. Heh.. Personally, I love this place.. Do try out Annabelle.. And thanks to their waitress, Maybelle, for the introduction of Annabelle Place..
For more info, The Star has an article about Annabelle too!

Annabelle is closed on Monday..

Wedding Cake Decorations..

>> Wednesday, January 27, 2010

Hello again.. Sorry for the lack of updates.. I was busy studying Marketing subject for Mid Term which I think I will fail teruk teruk..
Ok enough of Marketing here is what we did for CAD 2.. CAD 2 means Culinary Arts and Design part 2..

Butterfly and Rose.. Made from Royal Icing and Pastillage.. We don't use the gum Paste because it contains too much ingredients and pastillage is our good friend!

Ops.. Forget to intro my group members.. Daniel on the left, myself, the wedding cake, Gareth and Reese.. The H&T chef got interested with our cake and asked us to keep it in the pastry kitchen.. So if anyone interested to view it.. It is in the pastry Kitchen, first work table only or can see throught the tempered window..

That's my chef, Chef Zaihan.. He is good in yoyo too :)

Mozi and I.. Take photo with celebrity chef very syok 1 you know? Next time when the video is on, u can see Mozi naked cooking in the beach.. XP

A bouquet of flowers at the bottom tier..

This is the whole cake with backdrop we found in KDU..

Aha yeah.. People, newbie chefs are mostly screwed by the masters.. So do smile all the time to keep up the spirit of culinary! Yahoo!
And remember to change your toot-up attitude.. You might get screwed if you think you know it all in this industry..
Humble.. Humble..

Nevermind that, come I intro you all to the Friday Pasar Malam which is located near Sunshine Jelutong.. We followed OBala the leader of the Group B damn nolife chefs and had dinner in the pasar malam..

First of all, we stopped in the stall selling Crepes! There are many choices of crepes from jam to fruits and savoury ones.. Do have a try.. I had the chicken ham and seaweed one.. Yum Yum.. But service is really slow lahh..

Crepe chef..

Then we stopped at a LOK LOK stall.. The most expansive stick is RM1.00 only.. So eat as many as you can..

Spotted this superbly raised up chelsea bun..

Another Lok Lok vendor.. Tom Yam soup one!

Ayam Percik in action..

I had one of this for RM5.00.. Not bad lah..

And this super jam packed Yong Tau Foo stall.. First time I saw YTF stall so full till the owner scoop the fish balls non stop.. One hour later is still the same.. One day I must go try also.. Wana join me?

Look at Jam.. He wanted to look for trouble I think.. Hahaha..

The pasar malam is devided into food area and the non-food sections.. The stalls are all at the side of the road surrounding the apartments.. Do watch out for Krazy motorists!

Had a fun day after a tiring kitchen life..
