KUTA BALI (Hawker Centre)

>> Wednesday, March 17, 2010

Kuta Bali is an awesome hawker centre which is located beside Permata Swimming pool.. Nowadays, we often go to that part of Penang Island so we must try out the special hawker treats there.. The food court is filled with numerous hawkers stalls I think there are 30 -40 or maybe 50 of them.. there are many many choices to pick from Asian, fusion, super fusion and local delights.. These are some of the few plates we ordered..

Ah Belle ordered the honeydew sago.. I totally hate it while she enjoys eating it.. Hah.. Everyone got different taste buds huh! To me, they should use real honeydew puree instead of some really fu*ked up chemical taste honewdey essence?

There are alot more dessert choices to pick from..

Seafood Popia.. Awesome!

Chicken Rice..

Pai Kut Ong Fried rice..

My pork Koay Teow Soup!

Finally our grilled Red Emperor Snapper..

We were saving up our stomach spaces for free supper that is why you can't see many many plates on our table.. heih heih..

Steam steam face.. We were actually eating in dark cause the hut we picked has no lamp.. Next time check it first ok?

Eating with style.. Heh!

Nom Nom Nom..

Kuta Bali - Beside Permata swimming pool - Paya Terubong - Penang - Malaysia!
Do go and experience such wonderful hawker centre in Penang!

Panas Panas Days..

>> Wednesday, March 3, 2010

Chinese New Year time is the hottest season in Penang! Agree? No rain, hardcore weather and glaring sun! I was craving for Ice Kacang after influenced by SAW and suddenly it became my favourite dessert. FTW right? The next one im going to hike up Penang Hill and hope the stalls are still operating..

So i influenced Obala and made him drive us all to New World Park! Do you know before NWP was built, we often had Ice Kacang at the Swatow Lane hawker.. That was the time when Ice Kacang is superb! Now, the taste run thousand km away alreay after moving into NWP.. Sigh!

Cendol! I like cendol noodle that is not frozen.. Some people don't soak the noodle thus it is frozen.. When you bite it, you'll get brain freezr.. Haha.. Penang Road one is better recommended.. But the taste also vary d.. Grrr!

NWP Ice Kacang!

Laksa for lunch..

Curry mee for lunch? Don't miss this if you come to Penang!

Our table.. Hawker food at NWP!

This little girl tag along too.. She can hentam food too! LOL!

Taman Kheng Tian Pasar Malam

>> Friday, January 22, 2010

Helly guys! Sorry for the lack of updates!! Yada Yada, short semester is a stress pile and nobody is a fan of short semester!
Friday, we had class in the morning and then stayed back for the wedding cake decoration till about 6pm.. After it is done, I will post it up okay.. Damn next week, week after and bla bla bla we are having midterm, midterm, presentations and alot of diploma junks!

Nevermind that, come I intro you all to the Friday Pasar Malam which is located near Sunshine Jelutong.. We followed OBala the leader of the Group B damn nolife chefs and had dinner in the pasar malam..

First of all, we stopped in the stall selling Crepes! There are many choices of crepes from jam to fruits and savoury ones.. Do have a try.. I had the chicken ham and seaweed one.. Yum Yum.. But service is really slow lahh..

Crepe chef..

Then we stopped at a LOK LOK stall.. The most expansive stick is RM1.00 only.. So eat as many as you can..

Spotted this superbly raised up chelsea bun..

Another Lok Lok vendor.. Tom Yam soup one!

Ayam Percik in action..

I had one of this for RM5.00.. Not bad lah..

And this super jam packed Yong Tau Foo stall.. First time I saw YTF stall so full till the owner scoop the fish balls non stop.. One hour later is still the same.. One day I must go try also.. Wana join me?

Look at Jam.. He wanted to look for trouble I think.. Hahaha..

The pasar malam is devided into food area and the non-food sections.. The stalls are all at the side of the road surrounding the apartments.. Do watch out for Krazy motorists!

Had a fun day after a tiring kitchen life..

North to South

>> Friday, December 18, 2009

It was a Tuesday night, when everything and everyone has settled down, my friend asked if i would like to join them for a chillout session by the beach in sunset.. Chillout, finally! I have not been into this kind of activities since the beginning of holiday! There are only 5 of us because it was a last minute random thing.. Even the customers that particular night are less than usual.. Maybe because of the weather.. The songs played is awful and the kitchen was closed.. BUT I enjoyed sitting by the beach.. The whole day also, it doesn't mattter..

Next thing I am going to do is to enjoy sunset at sunset.. Yeah, sounds good isn't it? So if you want to feel the last sunset of 2009, do hook me up!
Bet my friends are building their first fat fat snowman over in the UK and Dublin already.. The snow thick enuff d?

The girl will always get her cocktail but idk why she asked for mojito.. End up we mix some beer and I finished up the whole glass.. Yeah! Don't waste money..

This is my cocktail dog, Shiro Pi.. Cocktail is the new word I am going to use for mixed-breed dog.. Yep, he is my holiday entertainment besides Facebook.. Anyway, they banned the use of FB in certain companies and colleges too so better not get busted!

Then, we went for supper in Jelutong.. The Pos Jelutong Burger was 'tutup' so we went over to the chinese hawker.. I often eat the economy bihun and mee from the aunt as she open her stalls till late mid night.. The oyster omelette there is awesome and cheap too!

the above plate costs RM4.oo; bihun, mee, luncheon meat, taiwanese sausage and an egg...

Duckie's Open House

>> Saturday, October 17, 2009

Hello world!
I am back after a few weeks with no new posts..
Very sorry lah.. This semester too busy and got lah alot of 'duno-what-should-I-do' stuffs occured..

So, for the delayed posts #1.. It was about Jeff's new house ;)
They picked a date which is on 10/10/2009 and it is a Saturday..
Chun date and day for an open house right?

Foods were prepared by his mommy and us, the KDU chef 4 student..

CKT YY @ high pressure stove..

One night before party! Look at Bala measuring the melted butter.. We made 4 cheese cake and 1 tiramisu..

And the real day itself, we had CKT! Penang famous hawker dish aka the 'Char Koay Teow.'
I was actually playing around only lah.. The real CKT man is Daniel and Yan You..

The above is Reese and Jeff.. They are playing cards actually.. BUT, duno why both face faced different ways.. Camera shy kut?

And then the Satay.. 4kg also finished.. Lembu told me it was not sweet enough so I forced him to eat with the sauce.. 1kg of peanut poured into the sauce till the oil disappeared.. LOL!

The CKT man.. Daniel and his frying skill.. Action Kitchen Chef..

Carved papaya, tiramisu and chocolate sauced eclairs..

The food supply.. Tandoori & mushroom sausage, tom yam bihun, shepherd pie, lamb shank pie, pasta salad, chicken satay, curry chicken and vegetables..

Despite the rain, their guests still enjoy the night..
We had booze upstairs and Lembu turned into a 'dark cow' because his face turned black instead of red.. He is too HELLthy!

AND..

Finally, welcome to TG BG and have fun staying in hillside! Hehehe..

[BTW, photos are stolen from Chan Lilian, Maybelle Loh and YingLai Chow via Facebook]
